Each Thursday night from July 11-August 15, Rochester’s Party in the Park concert series presents a wide range of music including blues, funk, rock, reggae, and classic rock attracting devoted music fans and families to come out and enjoy the beautiful summer season. Now in its 27th year, the 2024 Party in the Park concert series is being held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Park and is hosted by the City of Rochester.
Everclear
The final performance of the 2024 Party in the Park Concert Series features Everclear, one of the leading alternative bands to emerge from the 90s. Celebrating their 30th Anniversary in 2022, Everclear has enjoyed a lengthy career, with 11 studio releases, including four that have been certified Gold or Platinum, selling over 6 million records, and achieving 12 Top 40 Hit Singles on Mainstream Rock, Alternative, and Adult Top 40 radio, including “Santa Monica,” “Father of Mine,” “I Will Buy You A New Life,” “Wonderful” and “Everything To Everyone,” as well as numerous videos, thousands of shows, and various other accolades, including a 1998 Grammy nomination.
Shamarr Allen
Also closing out this year’s concert series is New Orleans native Shamarr Allen. Heavily influenced by jazz, hip-hop, rock, funk rhythms, blues and country, Allen is the lead vocalist and trumpeter of his band “Shamarr Allen & The Underdawgs.” In addition to performing with his band, Allen has collaborated with many renowned artists around the world such as Willie Nelson, Patti LaBelle, Galatic, Harrick Connick Jr, and Lenny Kravitz, and many more artists. Not only is Allen a skillful lead performer, he is also a music composer, writer, and producer. With a scintillating and unique sound, look, and exemplary talents, Shamarr Allen transcends musical boundaries.
