Rochester A-List is throwing our annual Summer Friday Golf Event- great food, great beer, great prizes and a great day of fun at one of the most under-rated courses in the area. Use those Summer Friday Hours for the best golf deal all summer!
A-List has created a day you’ll want to play hooky for (or use those summer Fri. hours). We’ve rounded up great prizes, contests, fun, food and beer. The setting is the gorgeous rolling hills of FarView Golf Course in Avon NY, just 20 min. south of Rochester. Farview is one of the most scenic golf courses in the area with scenic views of the Genesee Valley. After the round, the 19th hole will be on the deck and hillside overlooking the course, lit by an array of lights in the trees creating a perfect setting for a cold beer and food truck feast. (We recommend bringing a lawn chair or blanket to sit on the hill).

Hole #8 A Tasting Experience at Black Button Distilling For You and 19 Friends.
Black Button Distilling is Rochester’s first craft distillery since Prohibition. It’s located on Railroad Street. The use over 90% New York State all-natural ingredients to make all their spirits, including award-winning small batch Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Citrus Forward Gin, seasonal Lilac Gin and Bespoke Bourbon Cream. The tasting room offers spirits, sales, tours and classes. In addition to the prize, everyone who lands on the #8 green will receive a two for one drink button. And also part of our prize pool is a bottle of their delicious bourbon maple syrup.

The Pre Tee Beer Tasting
Summer Friday will begin with a pre- tee beer tasting including seasonal, limited edition and new releases of craft beer from three local breweries.
When Is It
Friday August 23rd. Play 9 or 18 holes. Pre-tee beer tasting with Brewery Ommegang begins at 2:15pm, shotgun start at 3pm. For golfers playing 9 holes, the tee time is 6pm.
Where Is It
We selected FarView Golf Course for a few reasons. One is, it has been a favorite on the A-List traveling league schedule and a course many in our area have never played or haven’t played often. We love introducing golfers to FarView. Its just 20 min. from Rochester and has scenic views of the Genesee Valley, a storied history (they found one of the most complete skeletons of a Mastodon while building the course which is now on display at the RMSC). Think about that while you are out on the course.

Format
Summer Friday is a 2 person scramble. 2 male, 2 female or co-ed, your choice. Need a partner? We’ll try to match players up. Shoot us an email to [email protected]
The Food Truck

(We recommend bringing a lawn chair or blanket to sit on the hill). We’re sad to say the Original Mac n Cheez Food truck is taking a summer off. This year’s food truck TBA.
Cost
$35 for 9 holes, $45 for 18 includes golf, cart, beer tasting, beer on the course, contests and prizes. Tickets must be purchased by Aug. 15 to be eligible to win the trip.
extras- lunch
If you want lunch before your round or need to refuel during the round, the course is offering a $5 lunch special- a zweigles hot dog, beer or non alcoholic beverage and chips.
