Southpoint Restaurant and Bar has opened at Southpoint Marina and Pool Club in Penfield. On the south shore of Irondequoit Bay, the restaurant which features a chef-driven menu and large bar will be a great stop for boater, customers of the club and people who love to be near the water (all of us, essentially). Sunday afternoons the public can use the pool for just $5 – Sunday Funday with cocktails and a DJ each week.
The new Arbor Loft is celebrating is Grand Opening July 25th. This new, industrial chic venue is above Hart’s Local Grocers, with white walls, wooden floors, and exposed beams. The space is available for your next celebration, corporate or community event. The opening celebration is free on the 25th, 5-7 pm with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from 2 Vine.
After a year as a pop-up espresso shop, Ugly Duck Coffee has grounded themselves in the heart of Rochester’s thriving East End neighborhood. Offering carefully crafted coffees in their Charlotte Street locaion behind 2 Vine, they will continue to offer catering services to local businesses.
Now open on Park Ave, California Rollin’ II Express Sushi Bar is a great way to satisfy your sushi cravings while on the city’s popular Avenue. They also have a few tables outside.
Local chef Steven Rees opened a new dining concept with Relish. Have you dreamed of serving, or better yet, eating, a locally sourced, creatively prepared menu at your own kitchen table? Make that food dream come true with Relish! Relish offers an online menu of prepared foods for delivery to your home or next event. Using locally sourced food, much of which is hand selected at the Public Market, you can get in-season meals and save yourself the trouble of cooking or going out. Seems like only yesterday (it was in April!) we posted about this upcoming new spot in NOTA, but summer’s here and so is Nosh! In tune to the industrial roots of this little block off of University Ave, where 3 Heads Brewing, Glen Edith Coffee and more have opened this past year, Nosh has crafted an inviting place to get a cocktail and sample the eclectic menu, from “Tickled Pig” to “Boar Lasagna” and a whole lot more.
City Tavern in Victor, a sister restaurant of the City Grill on East Ave, is preparing to open soon. With extensive renovations underway at the former location of TGI Fridays, there will be a large partially covered patio with fire pits, an indoor pizza oven by the bar, and stone and brick features bringing a South Florida feel to Upstate NY.
Grab a coffee or a bite to eat at 3rd ROC Café at the RMSC—a family-friendly eatery with enhanced homemade taste on the Museum’s lower level. 3rd ROC Café features fresh, flavorful and healthy options as well as classic café fare. Local ingredients are incorporated into dishes whenever possible and there are several kid meal choices, bento-box style. Enjoy menu items such as soups, salads, wraps and pasta dishes including vegetarian, gluten free, rice bowl and tofu options and unique flavors including kimchi and pickled jalapenos. 3rd ROC Café, is run by the owners of Buta Pub, carries Glen Edith coffee and offers a special space-themed espresso drink only available at RMSC that, after poured, resembles Jupiter’s great red spot.
East End and Rochester favorite 2 Vine re-opened with a major renovation and new menu in May. 2 Vine has embraced a new Bistrotoria-theme, inspired by a “French bistro meets Italian Trattoria” ambiance. The innovative menu presents new dishes and stand-by guest favorites continuing a commitment to quality in-season ingredients.
If you drink beer in Rochester, this new news is old by now, but for those of you who missed it, Three Heads Brewing is now open! On Atlantic Avenue, right next to the revitalized Elton Street block, you can now enjoy your favorite beer right at the source. With brewing right on location, a large outdoor patio, and a large renovated interior, this place was popular before it even opened.
