Rochester, New York is a great golf city and has been known for hosting fantastic golf events for decades. A long time tradition that helped build that reputation has been the annual presence of a women’s professional golf tournament. For the 40th consecutive year, Rochester will once more host professional woman’s golf with the Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic. The tournament honors Danielle Downey, a female professional golfer to hail from Rochester, on the course she grew up on. The top 10 players will advance to the LPGA. The event helps raise funds for charity beneficiaries the Hillside Work Scholarship Program along with the Danielle Downey Scholarship Fund.
