Rochester Party in the Park- Ripe and Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime

July 31

Doors: 6:00 PM | Show: 7:00PM

Each Thursday night mid July through mid August, Rochester’s Party in the Park concert series presents a wide range of music including blues, funk, rock, reggae, and classic rock attracting devoted music fans and families to come out and enjoy the beautiful summer season. Now in its 28th year, the 2025 Party in the Park concert series is being held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Park and is hosted by the City of Rochester. Beyond the music, the festival atmosphere includes local food vendors, craft beer and wine, and a laid-back setting.

Ripe

Ripe’s music style has been self-described as alt-pop,  with lead vocalist Robbie Wulfsohn stating “what we make is music you can dance to. We’re drawn to the peak of a song — the emotional catharsis when everything comes out. It’s all about reaching that moment. The revelation comes back to us when bodies shake with joy.”

The band is also often associated with funk and dance music, and has been described as “neo-soul” by the Boston Globe.  Gwen Egan of boston.com wrote that the band has an “infectious blend of pop, funk, and rock”.

Earth, Wind & Fire has been noted as one of the band’s influences. Becker stated that the band also models their sound after Miles Davis.

Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime

For nearly 25 years, Badfish has been bringing the feel-good vibes of Sublime to stages across the country, celebrating the band’s iconic blend of ska-punk and reggae-rock.

With their Gimme the Gold Tour 2025, Badfish takes stage at Party in the Park on Thursday, July 31, delivering an unforgettable tribute to Sublime’s greatest hits, including fan favorites from the legendary California group that defined a generation.

In addition to their tribute set, Badfish has been making waves with their original music. The band recently released two new tracks, “If You Pay Me” and “High with You,” adding fresh, groove-infused tunes to their setlist that seamlessly blend with their tribute material.
