Restaurant Fiorella, 5 Rochester Public Market, Rochester
Restaurant Fiorella recently opened at the Rochester Public Market offering casual Italian fare with a focus on regional selections. Chef Gino Ruggiero opened Restaurant Fiorella to pursue his passion for traditional farm-to-table Italian cuisine. Each dish is prepared in the Italian tradition: using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. At Restaurant Fiorella, you will find a simple menu that reflects the unique tastes of the season. Artisanal pizzas in the authentic style using naturally leavened dough, handmade pastas, vegan options, and house gelato. The craft beer and wine selections are carefully curated to compliment the menu.
Root 31 Café and Eatery is now open in Pittsford Plaza. This new spot offers a unique relaxing environment and a menu of healthy, local ingredients guided by principles of sustainability. Whenever possible they use local, organic ingredients guided by principles of sustainability and partner with local farms that feature pasture raised & grass-fed animals that produce premium dairy, meats, cheeses in addition handcrafted sundries, condiments , jams and jellies.
Across from Pittsford Plaza in Pittsford Colony is Pizzeria FAVO is an upscale modern day “pizza joint” featuring custom-built artisanal pizzas, freshly made salads, self-serve gelato and small-batch craft fountain soda. Their pizzas are made in an interactive assembly-line format that allows guests to customize each and every pizza, choosing from a wide selection of fresh, artisanal ingredients. Have fun creating a “build-your-own” pizza which features unlimited veggie toppings for no extra charge.
Adding to the dining options available in one of the most popular areas in the city, Bubble Fusion recently opened in the heart of the East End, in the same building as Matthew’s East End Grill. Bubble Fusion is a tea room and Asian Fusion Restaurant, offering a selection of sushi and teas including bubble tea. Bubble tea is a Southeast Asian beverage made of flavored milk tea with tapoica pearls (or jelly) in it. It is normally served with a large straw to allow for sucking up the pearls with the tea. First invented in Taiwan, this drink grew popular in Asia to then was brought over to America.
Glow in the dark miniature golf, has come to Rochester. Glowgolf is now open next to Ethan Allen at Eastview. Available for group events, parties or just a fun time with your kids. Put your golf skills to the test and have fun at this fluorescent 36 hole course!
Although this isn’t new, we haven’t written about it yet, and we’re long overdue for this project in the making changing our city for the better. The redevelopment project The Market at I-Square, has transformed a popular area of town in Irondequoit near Titus and Hudson Avenues and surrounding the iconic House of Guitars. The Market at I-Square includes six businesses from ice cream to pasta along with office and banquet space on the second floor. The building’s rooftop is open to the public and includes a rooftop garden. Open businesses include The Reserve Wine Bar, Pasta Cucina, The Market Grill, Stir Coffee, Hong Kong One and I-Scream for Ice Cream. Part of several buildings at the town center of Irondequoit, I-Square will also have an art gallery, apartments, retail shopping, fine dining and more.
